2. The Media in V for Vendetta reinforces racism and makes it a part of government policy by using blacks and other races in television shows as the “bad” people. The media depicts races that are not typical whites as bad people in shows on T.V like storm Saxon. This makes the people of the leader’s society dislike black and other races. With the general public hating the minorities, it justifies their murders. The media had a purpose when they put on shows with minorities as villains. They did this to justify the crimes the government committed against them.
3. Women in the leader’s society are miniscule. Women, such as Mrs. Almond, are completely dependent on their husbands for support. The women in the society have no say in the government and have no opportunities to improve themselves. Mrs. Almond is a great example of this, because she lost her husband Derek when V murdered him. She was not eligible for help from the state. Mrs. Almond lost everything she had and turned to her husband’s enemy for help after his death. Women had very little to do with anything legitimate in the leader’s society. They are treated with disrespect and have little opportunity to improve their social statuses.
